Frequently Asked Questions
How soon should I start therapy after a loss or life transition?
It’s never too soon to start therapy. Just the same way you would treat a physical wound immediately, grief recovery can be started immediately.
How do I know I have found the right therapist for me?
Finding the right therapist is not always easy but can make all the difference in your recovery and healing journey. Your therapist should listen actively, help you feel safe, comfortable, and specialize in your therapeutic needs. It is important for a therapist to respect your boundaries and your privacy while also having a good connection. I provide a free 15 minute consultation to ensure I am a good fit.
How long will I need therapy?
The length of therapy will vary depending on the needs of each individual client. Some clients find relief or recovery in a few sessions while others benefit from a long term therapeutic relationship.
How often will I need therapy?
Most clients start with weekly sessions but the frequency of sessions can be adjusted based on client needs.
How do I get started?
After a free 15 minute consultation. If you choose to begin therapy with me, I will email you an intake form, a notice of privacy practices, a billing consent form and a telehealth consent form. You can review and email them back to me prior to our first session. For in person sessions, I can provide you with paper consents for you to sign. I will scan the original signed documents for my records. Your records will be stored securely.
